Section-wise Strategy

Child Development & Pedagogy

30Q · 30M

Child development (6–11 years), concept of inclusive education, learning and pedagogy, principles of child development, role of heredity and environment, how children think and learn.

Strategy: This section tests conceptual understanding — not rote learning. Focus on Piaget, Vygotsky, Kohlberg theories. Read NCERT Psychology texts. Target 25+/30.

Language I (Hindi/English)

30Q · 30M

Reading comprehension (2 unseen passages), grammar, language development, pedagogy of language teaching, vocabulary, sentence structure, critical perspective on language use.

Strategy: Choose the language you are most comfortable with. Comprehension passages are direct — read carefully. Pedagogy questions test your understanding of language teaching methods.

Language II (English/Hindi)

30Q · 30M

Comprehension (2 prose passages, 1 poem), elements of language, communication, comprehension and proficiency, pedagogy of language teaching, language skills development.

Strategy: This is a qualifying-type section for most. Solve comprehension passages accurately. Language pedagogy questions are similar across Language I and II — study once, score in both.

Mathematics

30Q · 30M

Content areas: geometry, shapes & spatial understanding, numbers, addition-subtraction-multiplication-division, measurement, weight, time, volume, data handling, patterns, money. Pedagogy: nature of math, community math, evaluation.

Strategy: Focus on Class 1–5 level mathematics concepts and their pedagogical approaches. How to teach a topic is as important as knowing the topic. Target 26+/30.

Environmental Studies

30Q · 30M

Family & friends, food, shelter, water, travel, things we make and do. Pedagogical issues: concept and scope of EVS, significance of EVS, integrated EVS, environmental education, learning principles, activities, experimentation.

Strategy: EVS questions are largely concept-based and easy for most candidates. Focus on pedagogical aspects: inquiry-based learning, activity approach, field visits. Target 26+/30.
